About pipstars

Pipstars label was created by Jenny Benjamin in 2005. The business began as a creative outlet for a reluctant stay at home mum but the label has grown and developed over the years.

The intial focus was screenprinted images on tee shirts. The original plan was to make size 2 through to about size 6, but from very early on customers were pushing for the designs to be available on baby tees as well. Then mothers buying pipstars at local markets with daughters older than 6 convinced pipstars to extend the sizes up to a size 12. It seems to be difficult to find handmade and small run clothes for older girls. So pipstars offers an extensive size range from OOO for newborns through to size 12.

Once the tee shirt ranges were established pipstars started making small runs of dresses, skirts and shirts in gorgeous fabrics with a unique look. The customers loved buying clothes for kids knowing that only 3 or 4 or each fabric was made in each size.

All screenprinting is done by hand by pipstars creator, Jenny Benjamin, using environmentally friendly water based inks.

The tees are made from Australian made fabric, manufactured in a knitting mill in Botany.

Pipstars clothes are made locally in the inner west in Sydney in a small business. Pipstars can guarantee that the clothes are made without using any sweat-shop labour. It feels great to actually know the people that make pipstars clothes.

Pipstars buys only the highest quality cottons and denim to make the clothes. Pipstars wants to make clothes for kids that are more unique than mainstream labels, using quality fabrics and original screenprints.
